Veolia Water Technologies has invested years of R&D to develop odor-free treatment plants that are acceptable both for those who work in them and those who live in their vicinity.

Municipal wastewater generates foul smelling by-products that constitute a form of pollution.

These by-products are essentially made up of compounds containing : 

  • nitrogen (in particular ammonia and amine) ;
  • sulphur (hydrogen sulphide, mercaptan) .

Physical-chemical and biological techniques are used to remove them.

In far less quantities, organic compounds such as aldehydes, cetanes and hydrocarbons are also found in industrial gas.
