Veolia Water Technologies has packaged this proven water softening technology into a transportable design to meet the needs of the shale gas industry. This technology enables reuse of the treated water in fracing operations, decreasing the demand for fresh water supply.
The transportable units are available in various sizes to treat up to 25,000 barrels per day of Produced and Frac Flowback Water. Our pre-engineered systems are delivered ready for hook-up with minimal assembly, and the modular design permits movement from site to site.
Compact Process Incorporates Chemical Precipitation with Sludge Thickening
MULTIFLO™ Softening is a compact process incorporating chemical precipitation with sludge thickening to produce an effluent with low concentrations of scale-formers and a highly concentrated sludge that can be easily dewatered. Our MULTIFLO systems are constructed of corrosion-resistant materials that are suitable for handling water that contains high concentrations of dissolved solids and chlorides.
Flexible Robust Process with a Footprint Smaller than Conventional Softening Systems
This transportable system uses chemical addition, controlled sludge recirculation, optimized hydraulics, and our patented TURBOMIX™ draft-tube reactor to enhance the formation of crystalline compounds for rapid settling. The resulting system has a footprint 10 to 20 times less than that of a conventional precipitation softening system.
